There comes a moment—when the map folds shut, the job titles fade, and what’s left is the echo of your own footsteps on the pavement you’ve chosen. That’s where EP ONE begins.
Launched from the driver’s seat of a 37-foot fifth-wheel RV, EP ONE is the first extended play album from Frankly Speaking Studios, and it’s everything the name implies: raw, funny, heartfelt, rebellious, and deeply human. It’s the soundtrack of a life that said, “Let’s start again. But this time, let’s make it groove.”
This album wasn’t written in a studio tower. It was carved from the Tabula Rasa RV Tour, produced on the road, and refined between coffee refills, long-haul drives, and backroad sunsets.
🚐 The Tabula Rasa RV Tour: Reinvention With a Backbeat
The journey began in Danville, Virginia, and rolled across the blue highways toward Port Huron, Michigan—a path of reflection, remembrance, and reinvention. The Tabula Rasa Tour was more than a relocation. It was a mission:
- To reset a life.
- To strip down the obligations.
- And to reclaim the rhythm that corporate calendars and life’s detours tried to mute.
From truck stop diners to borderland riverbanks, this tour became a crucible for creativity. The songs of EP ONE emerged not from production meetings but from moments—moments where memory met melody.
🧠 Where the Music Meets the Movie: Who’s the Real Director?
During the early weeks of the tour, another idea was taking shape in tandem with the songs:
The screenplay for Who’s the Real Director.
Born from the same creative fire, the script asks a haunting question: What if an AI executor could decide your legacy… and didn’t agree with your final wishes?
As the beats of EP ONE dropped into place, so did the plot twists of the screenplay. Both are projects about control—taking it back, losing it, and redefining what it means to live on your own terms.
Where the screenplay explores those truths through science fiction, the album does it through sound. Together, they create a body of work about authorship of life.
🎶 Track by Track: The Soul of EP ONE
Each of the five songs on EP ONE is a chapter in the story of radical honesty.
1. Frankly, We Spunk
The mission statement. A genre-bending rebel anthem that says: “Don’t box me. Don’t label me. Just watch me live.”
2. Still Jammin’
A ska-reggae joyride. It’s for those who dance barefoot in their 70s and know the rhythm never retires.
3. Blue Water Memory
A poetic love letter to Port Huron, MI. The kind of ballad that lets silence speak, and reminds you to feel it all.
4. Rockin’ Robin
An outlaw gospel for bold women and untamed truth. It crackles with grit and wisdom and a little red-feathered sass.
5. Script Selling Made Easy
Cabaret catharsis. A satire of Hollywood fakery and the cost of selling out. Smart. Sharp. Spunked.
🌊 Port Huron: Where the Past Stopped and the Future Started
Arriving in Port Huron wasn’t just a dot on a map. It was a threshold.
It was standing under the Blue Water Bridge, looking across to Canada, and realizing you don’t need anyone’s permission to be who you are next.
The Blue Water track was written right there—feet planted on the shoreline, soul drifting across a river that has no political side, only the poetry of current.
🔥 No Apologies. No Regrets. Just Rhythm.
There is no neat bow to wrap around this album. There’s only the fire in the lyrics, the realness in the voice, and the rebellious peace of saying:
“I’ve lived. I’ve lost. I’ve loved. And now I’m moving forward—still jammin’, still bold, and not waiting for approval.”
EP ONE doesn’t ask for permission.
It declares its presence with harmony, humor, and honesty.
