Generative Soul: What Do You Call a Musician with a Prompt and a Dream?

There’s a moment in every creative life where the tools change, but the soul of the work stays the same. For the past year, that moment has been unfolding on the road — one lyric, one prompt, one bootstep at a time — on the Tabula Rasa RV Tour.

With the release of EP Frankly Unleashed, we’re not just sharing six new tracks. We’re introducing a new kind of music-making, born at the crossroads of lived emotion and generative intelligence. This is more than pressing buttons and letting machines spit out melodies. It’s an act of emotional engineering — a delicate, gritty dance between memory, meaning, and machine.

Welcome to Generative Soul.

What We Do When We Create

Let’s pull back the curtain.

At Frankly Speaking Studios, music doesn’t start with loops or beats. It starts with a story — usually mine. A feeling. A contradiction. A question whispered to the ceiling of a 258-square-foot RV parked in a gravel or Walmart lot somewhere between grief and reinvention.

From there, we shape a lyric. But it’s not enough to say what we feel. We have to ask it the right way. That’s where the prompt begins.

Every line I write gets filtered through tone, intention, tempo, and genre – the heartbeat of musical expression. Is this heartbreak acoustic or defiant funk? Is this truth whispered or shouted through a bullhorn made of saxophones and desert wind?

The result: a prompt that does what all good songs should do. It asks, then listens first.

Then comes the AI.

We use tools like VO3, ElevenLabs, and custom voice blends to bring the track alive. But those tools don’t work unless the prompts do. The creative labor isn’t replaced — it’s redirected and deepened by the maestro.

We’re not here to ask AI for magic. We’re here to teach it to sing our story.

Generative Artist: More Than a Label

Google’s Gemini once described their AI-generated music demo as “for NPR”. Clean, safe, and uninspired. That’s not us.

Frankly Spunk doesn’t play for NPR. He plays for the streetlight. For the broken heart still burning. For the rebel with a remix. This is the soundtrack of the Older Than Average mindset — not smoother, but wiser. Not polished, but seasoned.

So what do you call a prompt engineer who makes music?

“A Generative Artist — with rhythm, reason, and recursion.”

And what do you call the style?

Prompted Soulcraft.

It’s how we build our sound. It’s how we share our story. It’s how we alchemize feelings into fuel.

The Birth of Frankly Unleashed

Each track on the EP started with a moment of emotional truth:

  • Clarity After Motion — for when you walk before the map is drawn.
  • Ghosts in the Rearview — for when the past rides shotgun.
  • Mind Over Storm — for when the thunder’s inside.
  • Contemplative Silence — for when quiet is the only answer.
  • To Be More, or Not to Be — for when identity splits and recombines.
  • Fail Forward — for when the fall becomes the climb.

We didn’t just write these. We excavated them. And then we summoned the sound.

Some tracks came easy. Others fought us. But each time, we stuck to it — refining the prompt, testing vocal blends, shaping the instrumental feel until the track told the truth. That’s not push-button magic. That’s persistent creation.

That’s the grind of the Generative Soul.

The Role of Indie (and the Real Icon Behind the Mic)

Frankly Speaking Studios now has a face: a blue-lit, noir-drenched bulldog in a trench coat and fedora, gripping a vintage mic like it holds the last honest word in the world.

That’s Frankie “Spunk” Delvecchio. But he’s more than an icon. He’s a tribute. To Indie, my Boston Bull. A dog with more character, spunk, and love than most people. Indie stood by my family through silence and sorrow. Now he stands for the sound.

Stay tuned to meet Francine “Jazz” Delvecchio
Tagline: “She doesn’t belt — she bends notes around your bones.”

Why This Matters Now

We live in a world that moves fast, skips deep, and trades feelings for frictionless output. But Frankly Spunk isn’t frictionless. It’s gritty. It’s earned. It comes from being older, seasoned, and still willing to feel big and create louder.

This EP isn’t a playlist. It’s a statement. And this studio isn’t a place. It’s a movement.

Call It What It Is

So yeah. You could say it’s AI music. But that misses the soul.

Call it Prompted Soulcraft. Call us Generative Artists. Call the sound Frankly Spunk.

Whatever you call it, just don’t call it passive. Because behind every beat is a man with a map of feelings, a mic of memory, and a prompt sharpened by fire.

And this is just the beginning.
